About Channel Point
Why I Started Channel Point Wealth Partners
After years in institutional investing and traditional wealth management, I saw a gap.
Too often, financial advice focused on products, portfolios, or short-term performance — while the bigger picture was overlooked.
I started Channel Point Wealth Partners to take a different approach — one centered on clarity, long-term thinking, and helping people align their financial decisions with the life they actually want to live.
My role isn’t just to manage investments. It’s to help you make thoughtful decisions, stay disciplined over time, and bring structure to what can often feel complex or uncertain.
How I Think About Financial Advice
Long-Term Thinking
I focus on building plans designed to compound over time — not reacting to short-term noise or market headlines.
That steady approach helps you stay grounded through market ups and downs, avoiding knee-jerk decisions and staying focused on what matters most over the long term.
Clarity Over Complexity
Financial decisions shouldn’t feel overwhelming. I focus on helping you understand your overall financial picture — where you are, what your options are, and how those choices impact your long-term goals.
That clarity helps you stay grounded through uncertainty and make confident decisions over time.
Alignment With Your Life
Your financial plan should reflect your values, priorities, and the life you want to live — not just maximize returns.
The goal isn’t simply to accumulate more, but to use your resources intentionally — so you can enjoy life along the way while still feeling confident about the future.
About Vi Chan
I founded Channel Point Wealth Partners to create a more thoughtful, client-centered approach to financial advice.
Before transitioning to wealth management, I spent several years on the institutional side as a portfolio manager and equity analyst, focusing on long-term investing and disciplined decision-making. I’m a CFA® charterholder and earned my MBA from Columbia Business School, where I studied in the Value Investing program — experiences that continue to shape how I think about risk, markets, and portfolio construction today.
Over time, I saw that good financial advice isn’t just about investments — it’s about helping people make better decisions with everything they have. That includes understanding tradeoffs, staying grounded through uncertainty, and aligning financial resources with the life they want to live.
My role is to bring clarity and structure to that process—so clients can feel confident in their decisions and focus on what matters most. The name Channel Point reflects that approach: helping clients find a clear path forward and a point of clarity in their financial lives.
Outside of work, life is full and busy in the best way. My wife, Kathy, and I are raising three young kids, and our home is often a mix of schedules, activities, and a bit of controlled chaos. We also have Dolly, our rescue dog, who keeps things lively around the house.
That perspective keeps things grounded. It’s a constant reminder that financial planning isn’t just about numbers — it’s about supporting real lives, real priorities, and the moments that matter most.
